Javetta Jones-Roberson, M.Ed. is a Dean of Instruction at Haltom High School in Birdville ISD. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Texas Woman’s University with a focus in Education, Family Studies and Reading. Her Master’s degree in Education Administration and Leadership is from Texas A&M University-Commerce. Previously, she has served as a high school Advanced Academics Coordinator, Gifted Campus Coordinator/Liaison, Professional development facilitator for Advanced Academics and Gifted teacher. She is very involved in the Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented as a member of the Advocacy committee and on the national level with NAGC. She serves on the Diversity, Equity and Access committee. Currently, Javetta is a doctoral student in the Educational Leadership program at Texas A&M University Commerce, where her research focus is Gifted underrepresented populations. Javetta is an advocate for gifted diverse populations and enjoys educating staff and school personnel on the importance of serving this dynamic group of students.
